Catherine opened her first studio in 1986 exhibiting her works across Canada, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, and later began teaching as Director of Arts at Central Montessori School Canada.
Ms Shea has been invited to teach her Experiential Learning Workshops at Canadian universities McGill University, University of Toronto, and University of Ottawa.
Ms. Shea expanded her studio in 2020 to include an online art academy teaching to a global audience. She was invited to teach at Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende Mexico, where she later opened a studio and gallery, and offering Live Painting shows in San Miguel de Allende.
Partnering with SMA Womens' Collective in 2022, Catherine launched 'Stirling District' an information hub to support local business and artist communities in SMA. The new Catherine Shea Studio - Spoke Gallery is a collaberation with SMA Womens Collective offering space to artists and events.
The gallery also features Catherine's original artwork and the contemporary designs of Azure/Happy Mode jewelry. Catherine's artwork is also displayed at Azure/Happy Mode in Centro, SMA.
